The Prophets The Stranger The Lamb |
Good
News! Part of the Good News involves laying a foundation upon which to build. That foundation comes from God's message to man, The Holy Bible. The Bible tells us about God: Who He is, what He is like, about His character, His nature, His preexistence, His power, His love, His grace, His mercy, His justice, His vengeance, His hatred, His sacrifice, and His forgiveness. The Bible tells us about battles between spiritual forces and about the conflict for the eternal souls of men. It tells us about how God relates to each man, woman, and child, gives practical wisdom for this life, and tells us about our future beyond this life. Bad News
The contrasting bad news is "For
all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23.
God hates sin. (Sin being among other things, violation of His creative design,
disobedience to His stated laws, or any other willful act in opposition to His
character and nature. For instance, "Thou shalt not lie." Or
"Thou shalt not steal.") I don't know of anyone on earth who measures
up to the righteous "glory of God." Do you? "All have sinned." Because God is just, absolutely NO violation will go unpunished! His perfect justice demands that there be no ignoring sin. He has promised that the consequences are always paid! Therefore, everyone who has ever sinned stands condemned before the Holy and Righteous God. No exceptions! "For
the wages of sin is death!’ Romans 6:23. But that's not the end of the story! Mercy! God is also loving and merciful! The Good News is
that God has provided a way out for every condemned person! He did this at GREAT
cost to Himself. He provided a Substitute to pay the penalty IN FULL for every
sinner! No one who has sinned can pay for the sins of another person, but if
someone who was sinless (zero sin, zero violation!) came, He could pay the
penalty for one who had sinned! Provision! God's Son, Jesus Christ, was born of a virgin, lived
on this earth in sinless perfection, and willingly gave up His life to satisfy
God's anger toward your sin and mine! Then He rose again from the dead, proving
His power over death and sin, and proving His deity. He lives to plead our case
before God as He Himself paid the price for our sin! God poured out all of His
righteous anger against my sin on His sinless Son. He did the same for you!
God's just anger against your sin and mine has been paid in full! The sinless
righteousness of Jesus Christ has been put on my account (and yours) with God,
so, in God's records, the slate is clean! The righteousness of Jesus has been
put on me! For you! Now
here is the key to unlocking this door: You must believe this! The payment has
been made. Now you must reckon it so for you!

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through
Jesus Christ our Lord." Roman 6:23 * Jesus
said, " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world
through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he
that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the
name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light
is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their
deeds were evil." John 3:16-18 * "For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift
of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 -- The
Holy Bible The one
truly eternal sin is rejecting God's gift to you in providing His Son as payment
for your eternal life. That is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit! The sacrifice
has been made and the price for your sin paid. How can God forgive the rejection
of His only Son when He gave so much for you? Through this one eternal sin, all
sins of your whole life come down upon your own head and God's justice will
demand payment in full--throughout eternity!
But you need not continue in fear of God's justice!
He has extended a tremendous gift of love to you through His Son! Believe in His
provision for you! The choice is clear: eternal life or eternal death; faith or
unbelief. You must believe and trust in God's provision for you. You will have
all of eternity to rejoice in making this right choice!
