2nd PILOT IN WEWAK |
The Sepik region is a busy flight program and
typically requires two pilots to effectively meet the needs of our
missionaries. Please pray for the provision of three qualified pilots for
ministry here in Papua New Guinea. Pray for laborers. |

Aircraft Refurbishment
P2-NTJ |
In 2002 NTMA purchased two old Beech King Air
C90 aircraft from the Australian Royal Flying Doctor Service. One of
those has been modified and refurbished to meet our needs. The other sits
without engines waiting for new engines, propeller, baggage and speed
modifications totaling nearly half a million dollars. Please pray for the
finances and personnel to make this aircraft operational. |

Hangar Repair |
The NTMA hangar in Wewak is in need of much
repair due to salt water corrosion. Pray for laborers to come help remove
the corrosion, weld new roof support structures, replace tin on the roof,
repair and replace lights, and repair the electrical system. We have tried
to hire local companies to do some of this work without success.
Funds are available for the work. Laborers are needed. |
Nov 2004
We were able to hire a local business to do most of the work. Other
repairs pending. |
| June 2004 |
Supply Buyer |
The missionaries in remote locations order
their groceries and supplies by email or radio. Many of the items needed
are purchased by a Supply Buyer who will drive into town and work with
local merchants to obtain the items needed. In addition the Supply Buyer
helps load aircraft and transports passengers and cargo between the Supply
base and the airport. Please pray for laborers. |
May 2005 Joachim Staat & Family arrived to
fill this role. |

New Aircraft

|
Fuel for our piston engine aircraft is
becoming increasingly more difficult and expensive to obtain. We expect to
move toward turbine aircraft in the future. We can accomplish more
work per pilot with a larger aircraft. Please pray for the
provisions needed to purchase these aircraft in the near future. We
have a specific aircraft in mind which should cost about USD$1.2 million
each. (Delivery 2006 or 2007.) With matching funds and discounts we can
purchase Kodiak aircraft through the end of 2005 for the price of $375,000
each. (First delivery to PNG after 2009.)

hangar in Wewak. |
Hired local company. |

Auto Hoist

|
We have seven or more ministry vehicles in
Wewak. Without competent vehicle mechanics available in Wewak, the vehicle
maintenance falls on us. Without proper equipment vehicle
maintenance is much more difficult and time consuming. Parts are often
ordered from Australia. A vehicle lift or hoist would greatly assist our
various ministries in Wewak. |

House construction |
Goroka: Work team needed for housing construction.
Two small teams from the USA and Australia came to Goroka for several
weeks to begin construction. By the end of June 2004 the framing should be
up and the tin roof on. They expect to wrap the house in plastic and leave
it for the next team whenever there is one. Work to be done: Siding,
windows, interior walls, cabinets, wiring, plumbing, plywood finish work,
drainage ditches, cement work, painting and a 8x40' structure for the
back. Pray for laborers. Goroka has a wonderful climate with temperatures
in the 90's (F) during the day and 60's at night. |
July 2005.
A team of men from Australia came to Goroka to assist with construction.
More assistance needed. |

Key Cutting machine

|
Unfortunately locks and keys are very much a
part of our lives here in PNG. With constantly changing personnel,
facilities and equipment, keys play a major role in enabling each person
to function. Often we need to send a key to a distant city or out of the
country to get a duplicate. No locksmiths here. |

Security Fence |
Due to increased criminal activity we need to
install more secure fencing on part of the Wewak property. Pray for
laborers to help with installation. |
May 2005. Half of the fence has been
installed. It dramatically reduced our number of burglary incidents. |
